Today we interviewed Evangelos Kaimakamis via skype.
He is a greek doctor who works at the Concordia research base in Antarctica (http://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Human_Spaceflight/Concordia). As
it is summer now there the temperature is 40 degrees below zero (in the winter it
is -80 degrees)!!! Amazing! It made me so big impression along with the fact that
the night lasts for four months and then the day for another four months!
Evangelos Kaimakamis has been for almost a year at
this isolated, white desert!! What gives him courage to go on is the importance
of the scientific work that is being done there. It is definitely a unique
experience!
